I'm trying to locate any plans/drawings of the P1000 Picket Boats, as used by the Royal Navy at BRNC Dartmouth. Can anyone help please?
Many thanks
Andy

Re: P1000 [BRNC Dartmouth] Picket Boat plans
As far as I can see, they are the same ones that were there when I was at Dartmouth in 1977! Do they get treated like listed buildings once they are 50 years old?
You could try contacting the Public Relations Officer at BRNC perhaps as I assume they will still be maintained at the Sandquay facility but whether they would allow a copy of the plans to be made available is another matter. There will presumably also be a section at DES Abbey Wood that administers support that should have the plans but the same issue of whether they would allow access to the plans would apply. Final thought is whether you could find out who actually built them and, if that firm is still in business, whether they can let you have a copy of the original commercial design that the picket boats were based on.
Good luck!
