New book on USN camouflages in WW1: "The Easter Egg Fleet"

Post by bgire »

I just got a new book by Aryeh Wetherhorn "The Easter Egg Fleet" which is an exhaustive study of US Navy camouflages in WW1.

After an extended introduction the bulk of the book includes 253 full page sheets of camouflages, listed by type and giving the name of ship(s) who carried them for real.
Each sheet is a cleaned and color version of the numerous profiles held at NARA.
Cross indexes help for finding the proper schemes.

Very highly recommended.
