anchor chain bow stopper

Hi Guys ,

I'm looking for drawings or pictures of bow stoppers , those with a loop above the chain , and a lever that had to be lifted to stop the chain when needed .

I already did a search on the net , but didn't find any relevant information nor decent drawing .

I don't need informations about Blake stoppers or "devil's claws" , I know how those work .

Many thanks ,

Laurent

I have a copy of an article and drawings by Norman Ough - Warship Details No.3 Anchors and Cables, originally published in Model Boats. This has details for Royal Navy battleships, cruisers and destroyers of the Second World War era. Any use? If so I can PM scans.

What is a 'bow stopper'? I've never seen these before. I'm modelling a capital ship forecastle, y'know.. 3 anchors, 1 port, 2 starboard with a cable holder each and a 'cat head' either side, etc, etc.

Anatomy of the Ship Hood shows the entire anchor arrangement in good detail as well.
