Hello,
I want to share my recent project 1/700 IJN Yubari. I want to detail up model as far as I can spot from documents I have and can stand on
Very cool and attractive box art we have,
Parts,
Started with basic construction. Sink marks spotted on bow, nearby both anchor areas. Also found some more shortcomings about kit but thanks to docs and info on net I will try to fix em.
Since LionRoaR frets are on the way, wanted to play with funnel a bit,
Widened funnel walls inside with a new No11 blade and drilled out funnel cap. Started to make some grid details inside with 0,25mm sheets. It is very hard to follow original structure here in 3,6 mm wide so I did not
All critics and help are welcomed during voyage.
Regards

Man, this is why I love this site!
I have this very kit waiting to be started.
Always been a fan of the Yubari, which I consider to be the prototype of the 'final generation' IJN warships.
Eagerly awaiting your posts!

Hi,
Thank you all for kind words gentlemens.
Here some pics for today, started to new AA platform and small housing under the AA platform. Also added some more stripes in funnel outlet.
Now its time to a vital question
Is floor of AA platform covered with antiskid plate or not? Logically should be, but errrmh...

I believe it was covered with an anti-skid plate. Anyone else agree/disagree?

After checking the Vanguard site, his Yubari's raised 25mm gun platform was smooth, and not anti-skid as I mistakenly agreed to. If anything, this modeler knows his stuff.

Thanks Jose & Quincy,
You were right about bloody etches Jose

I've lost some parts during cutting them out their frets, they jumped somewhere onto floor pinnnnnnngg
Anyway, I drilled out windows, glued watertightdoors and some hatches on deck and degaussing cable along hull sides.
