Help!
I`m looking for blurprints or constructionplans of the great ocean liner "Queen Mary"(the original of course;not the QMII). I`ve searched the net for some time but unsucsessfully.
They have to be detailed as I wish to build from scratch!
Hoping for some help on myquest!!
Best regards Kristoffer;Norway!

Hi Kristoffer

Are you looking for large scale "builders plans" or something smaller?

"Anatomy of the ship Queen Mary" by Ross Watton is a great place to start. Plenty of technical drawings of all aspects of the ship, although I'm not finding a cheep copy on the web at the moment.

If you're looking for basic detail, theses are OK, but have a few minor flaws: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0222898108

the best plans available for QM are the ones held at the Glasgow University Archives Services

hereby what they have on QM :

http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/archives/ ... eldatguas/

with the full listing of archives they have on her : http://www.gla.ac.uk/media/media_71010_en.pdf

if your intentions are to scratchbuild a model at scale 1/350 , spare the costs involved , but if you really want to invest in good sources , buy the needed plans there .

I bought the RMS Lusitania plans there , I paid 160 GB , but it definitively was worth it !

Mention of course what you want : profile , hull lines , all the visible deck views , and if you want to represent the plating , buy also the shell expansion plan

Regards ,

Laurent
