According to "Iron Coffins" it was red, but that is the only reference I found.
Of course on BW pictures it's impossible to tell either it's black or red.

U-boat primer color
Does anybody know what color was a primer used for u-boats?
According to "Iron Coffins" it was red, but that is the only reference I found.
Of course on BW pictures it's impossible to tell either it's black or red.
