Ahoy All,
I'm happy to have joined this very interesting group. I have found many truly awesome works within. I work on many different model from plastic store bought kits to scratch building wooden vessel from the past. I have dabbled with armor and aviation but always find myself drawn back to the ships.
Enough said for that...on to my first project on this forum. I decided to attempt Dragon's USS Laffey DD-459 1/700 kit. This in part is my desperate attempt to create a fleet for my workspace at work, without taking up an immense amount space.
As you know this is an interesting kit...the are two models for the price of one! This way I can also have one at home as well. The parts are extremely tiny and can shoot far distances real easy with the squeeze of the tweezers. I recommend lots of masking tape when removing the small parts. By no stretch am I great at this, yet, but with a few more years of practice and with the help from others I am sure it will come around.
With all that here are my first set of pics. Thanks for visiting!
