I am new to Scratchbuilding and i would like to build the HMS Campbeltown either during operation chariot or after while it served as an escort for the Royal Navy. I would prefer a scale of 1/72 however i would be quite happy with anything around that scale.

Thank you for your time.

For the crew you can use all sorts of figures from companies like Revell, Italeri, and probebly a lot more.
Ship-crew is hard to get in this scale, but with some modifications, and some good checking of the shapes of the figures (like arm up or down), remove weaponry or tools that they shouldn't have, and you got yourself some crew.
Hasagawe might have some other equipment as well, but i really don't know that for sure, but as the Tomcat in scale 1:72 from Hasagawe hasn't got any weapons in the kit i would think they will have some very nice stuff in special kits.
Billing Boats, Robbe, Graupner and other companies that have ships in this scale will have some equipment as well.
For bollards screws are pretty useful, as they are properly attached to the deck, and after a bit of filling no-one will know that there actually screws.

Greetings Josse

Combat Models sells a 1/72sc Ward kit. Not for the faint hearted. I think it contains plans. You would need to build frames and place the vac. hull on the framework, & add hull plating, kit also has some accesories like 4" gun & tubing for stacks. Sirmar says they will be releasing a resin 4-stack hull, they also offer resin accesories in 1/72sc. I have the Combat kit but i'm doing other things. hth jc

I remember sirmar have been planing that for a long time. I have never used anything from combat models though.
