Hello everyone ..

I must apologize for my English ..

My name is Rolf and I live in Italy, as you have a great passion for model ships, for years I trial in the construction of my huge model is enormous, far away from 2006 I am building all of the Yamato and I know trying to be as faithful as possible.

public everything I've done so far.
Our friend, herbieham which is building the Yamato in 1 / 72 from 2008 and very recently ppiu ahead of me with the building ... but I'm done for more details hidden and not visible, then you'll see what I say now begin to see some photos ...

good job everyone

Hello Rolf Welcome to scratchbuild . Like the Bismarck the Yamato is one of those iconic warships which is popular on this site at differing scales . Your work is superb. I noted that the barrels in the turret are at different angles . Question do you intend to have independently moving barrels within the same turret?

Hello, Dave Wooley.
Thank you for your compliments, the guns will move independently for all three towers on handling guns use the pneumatic system.
For photo-etched, the design with AutoCAD, the reason that here in Italy is not much used the scale 1 / 72 and nothing, model ships of WW2 and especially the Japanese.

That looks very nice! :thumbs_up_1: Please keep us updated! :-) By the way - didnt the japs use a dark grey for their ships?

Your hull construktion seem to be unconventional - can you post more details, please?

I admire the work of Giancarlo Barbieri - do you know this modeler? Are there any books or publications with his ship models, please?

Ciao,

Bernd.

Hello Rolf,

Your work is amazing :thumbs_up_1: Well done. (life in the 1/72 world gets more challenging every day :cool_2: )

I am intigued by your use of plexi glass, it looks facinating. I for one would enjoy reading about some of the details regarding working with the plexiglass and its use in the build.

Thank you for sharing your work :good_job:

Rolf, I seem to have spotted 2 computer hard drives in your build.

Do these have any function?

Nice work!

Funny, before I started visiting this forum I thought everyone made scratchbuild large scale models out of Plexiglass! I saw some photos of models from Scale Shipyards and just thought this was how it was done.
