I just bought the Fuji 1/700 USS Constellation (CV-64), unfortunately it did not come with life raft canisters that are attached to the sides of the lower flight deck. Can anyone give me ideas on how I can scratchbuild them to look semi-realistic?

Visit Bill Waldorfs thread on USS Indianapolis. He scratchbuilt the finest canisters I have ever seen.

Well in 1/700 these are going to be very small, you could get some solid white plastic rod, cut to size and put the 3 ring of belting around with a thin cord.
Or look for a bead shop, haberdashery, for some very small beads, the ends will need to be filled in but they would all be the same, for the webbing you could always do it with a black marker pen.
Other than that ask Jim Baumann he works in that scale,
