Oh, I'll be watching this one! It's a build I've considered before- but it's WAAAY down on my list of priorities! Looking good so far....
So, just the waterline option?

You can also try your LHS- I carry the Chopper @ my store. I've got a Chopper II.
Also, look into the Easy Cutter from Midwest Products. I've found the razor blades on the Chopper can leave a beveled or curved edge when they cut. The Easy Cutter (just bought one a few weeks ago) doesn't do that. It cuts balsa, basswood, styrene all with equal ease. It doesn't crush the wood, and it leaves a clean cut on styrene. Yep, I'm a believer!

garyj36 wrote:Not a lot to show so far. 1/350, I'll take frequent pics this build . Its really too bad that most peaple remember it burning in port. I prefer to think of it as a ship that outran the Hood

Not only the ship that outran the Hood but being also the prove the ship
with ALL Main Battery in fore could be handsome (at last for many)
as compared to Nelson/Rodney with their "beauty in a little bit different way"
What is the source of plans?
Will she be in 1940 Mers-el-Kebir quise or maybe in 1942 Tulon vintage with some French radar and extra AA guns etc.?
I can't wait when finished

Yes, the French are seemingly well-practiced at the art of "Le That-a-way..."

[quote="garyj36"]Without going through the billion google results, anyone know of any sources other than warship.get.net.pl with pics of these two battlecruisers?[
The best source for wonderful books devoted to French warships

In 1993 there was published the book Les cuirasses Dunkerque et
Strasbourg, by Robert Dumas. This 120 pages book is packed with pics of both units and quite good (at last for 1:350 model) plans.
In Marines Editions offer there is this book as a set with 2 other (Richelieu and Jean Bart Battleships) but it is quite expensive due to low US $ exchange rate.
If no other help please contact me.
I have this book and if interested I may to share with You with its content.
Unfortunately I haven't scanner so I'd xerocopy it or look for some
acces to scanner, scan and send on CD or via E.mail.
This venture would be unprofitable so I hope I wouldn't violate publisher rights.
Regards
BWT they were rated as Battleships by French Navy
