Hi All ,
here the way I've built the fairleads for my "Zinnia" .
some pictures to begin with :
hereby some explanations .
First of all , I bought a plastic tube ( polystyrol or ABS ) , the diameter being 4/5 mm . I cut a slice being 3 mm thick ( drawing n1 ) , opened the slice and formed the fairleads with a tweezer , see drawing n2 :
I built then the fairlead base , from paper ( drawing n3 & n4 ):
this base was then drilled with four holes , see drawing under ( n 5 ) , I then have fit the fairlead there in between and glued the whole with CA glue ( drawing N6 ) :
the whole assembly was then coated with CA glue , to give strength
what you get can be seen on drawing n7 , but it still has to be put in shape , like the drawing n8 .
A little sanding did the job ...
here under the dimensions for the biggest fairleads I have on "Zinnia" :
Regards ,
Laurent
