I wish I had the room to build and store ships of that scale, Im scrounging for space for my 1/350 ships as it is!

I was wondering, has anyone ever made a large scale aircraft carrier and tried to land / takeoff a RC aircraft from the deck? That would be neat to see.

My Iron Duke cost me around 500-00 to scratchbuild and get on the water. See it in Scratchbuild :heh: :heh: :heh: :wave_1: :wave_1: at the top.

That Dreadnought is absolutely stunning. I would love to have that or a 1:96 Nagato to power around the lake not far from where I live. I wonder what the average investment cost is for say, that Dreadnought or equivalent sized Battleship?

I'd say the aft gun on that S-boat looks different... if I recall most of them had a Flakvierling on the stern, but that looks like a single heavier one, like a 37-50mm. Love the camo on it though.

Once again seen at the Convention a good example of "manning the ship" and having a realistic effect is this superb t 1:32nd scale USN sub chaser .

I think a trend is developing in the UK and seen at the Convention for smaller ships larger scales and away from the once popular large ships smaller scales . This Castle Class corvette HMS Flint Castle is a good example , although there are many more. There is also a strong trend for adding figures to give the model some life like appearance .

The submarines are great to watch, you never really know where the boats are and when they will surface. Yes the Halifax class is a superb model and sails well. Most of the surface warships are to 1:72nd scale .

Hi Dan In the UK if you want to run live steam at an event you have to have a safe compound , keeping the public at a distance whilst you steam up. The same builder has a live steam model of the armoured cruiser HMS Kent .

Hello doog good to hear from you . Yes the original builders model in the Glasgow Museum of Transport is simply outstanding and helped John enormously in his build.
