Hi Nicolas
I got my plans from this excellent Dutch site on the Karel Doorman. I would imagine the internal layout would be very similar for all ships of the Colossus class. The various links take you down through the decks.

Hi Joe, thanks (didn't see you there).

This build is a bit on and off at the moment but here's the latest pictures.

I've scratch-built new boat deck sponsons (I hope that's the correct term, I've been building too many tanks lately). The Dutch style was much more angular than the rounded profile of the originals - and as depicted in the Heller kit. The port side sponsons also had shields fitted, I'm guessing to protect the boats from waves crashing against them. I've attempted to portray the shields as well.

The resin Island parts are still in the process of being cleaned up, still more work to be done on them yet. I've just tacked some of them together to see how it's all looking.

Cheers.

I'm glad you've finally got one Mitch :thumbs_up_1: it's understandable that you were excited  Keep it safe and build it when you feel ready, you'll know when.
Yes the white parts are scratch-built, it doesn't look too great at the moment but I'll start adding the details soon.

Cheers for looking in
Dave.

The basic shape of the Heller hull is about right Mitch, the conversion supplies you with the Dutch style island, angled flight extension and sponsons. There isn't a huge amount used from the Heller kit.

I've made some progress with the re-built gallery decks, which are now more or less the correct depth as the Heller ones were too shallow. I will now add the details such as bollards, fairleads, water tight doors etc.

I would say that the MW Models kit is the same kit, their name is mentioned on the box lid and also in the instructions. I must admit that I was very surprised to find it on the Aviation Megastore site, so I couldn't begin to guess how many are still knocking about.

Cheers
Dave.
If i whas a millionair i would give you like 5000 euro :P
just because you helped me finding this kit.
If you where a girl i would kiss you over and over.
But now i just want to give you a handshake :heh:
Any progress on your model?
Im saving every picture you will show us, just to learn from it and to see how i have to do mine.
Thanks again :P
Greetingz
Mitch ;)

*edit*
OOOh, the man that sells the kit says its the heller arromanches whit resin parts to convert.
Now im feeling bad.
Is it a good idea to take it?
Or not?

Im going to buy it m8 :)
Tomorrow i will order it, i thank you very much m8.
And i wont build it yet.
Im stil a beginner and soon i dont got the time.
But now i got a question.
How much do you think there's stil left in the world?
Because i found one 2 years ago in the loca shop here, and after one day it whas ghone.
On ebay i had two, and both where ghone in like a week for 300+ dollar.
They are hotcake's and rare.
I think im going to duplicate this kit :)(for myself)
Edit:
http://www.navalmodels.com/Schepen%20Ko ... Marine.htm
Mw models, is that the rare kit that you have?
Or is that a fake resin kit?

Mitch ;)

Mitch I've just checked the site where I bought the kit and they're still showing two in stock
http://www.aviationmegastore.com/?shopi ... &art=51613
Drop them a line mate, they're from your neck of the woods.

Dave

There's also this (I think this is what Jorit referred to)
http://www.aviationmegastore.com/hrms-k ... &art=51615
I believe this is the resin parts only, no Heller donor kit (not sure about the p.e. or decals)

Just a weird question here.
Is it maby possible to make a mall from your kit?
So that you can make more out of one.
You used the hull already , thats ok.
but from the rest its stil possible, and maby the outer sides of the hull.
This kit is SUPER rare, and i cant find any.
And i want to make one for my grandma (or myself, depends if she wants it)

Mitch ;)
