I received a set of the disks from Esquimalt and they are fantastic. There are numerous plans and details for the DDE/DDH including such things as full rigging for the ships boats (all the rigging, blocks, tackle etc used on the davits), locations of fire mains (which I had been searching for, for a long time), interior details if you want doors to the after deck house or bridge open. There are also full details of the twin limbo well set up and the bulkhead details for the compartment. The plans are invaluable if you really want a fully detailed DDE/DDH. Plus there are plans for the Bonaventure, Magnificent, Halifax class, Castle class, Prestonian class, various tugs and auxiliary vessels and much more.

The plans you can get from the museum are a must to detail out any of Munro plans (St. Laurent or Annapolis). Those were the plans I was using in my build and wish I had the Esquimalt ones long before now. I need to rebuild several areas (and I am leaving some too) now that I have more details.

The only down side is that that I heard the price may have changed, not sure on that.

Hi Guys

You can get them printed to any required scale at Fedex or Staples with large size plotters .

ALso Hulls in Fibreglass may be ordered from HMCS Models in Ontario .I know he makes CPF and Trump as well as prestonians ,also Victoria subs and Oberons? These must be preordered Dont know prices but believed to be $300-700 depending on fitting sets also available.

I have a set of Munro's HMCS St. Laurent plans (2 sheets) "as the ship appeared in 1960". I'm not likely to build/use them.

If anyone's interested I'll gladly part with them

You can see the triple launcher to the left. I'm pretty sure this is the torpedo loading and moving hoist track. They bring them on board at the stern and store them in the room the track goes into.

Going through photos I took on a trip to Boston in early July 1997 I came across these photos of HMCS TERRA NOVA (a RESTIGOUCHE class unit) that was a visitor to Charlestown Navy Yard NPS Park (near USF CONSTITUTION during her going back to sea again after her major reconstruction/repair on 4th July). I understand this was TERRA NOVA's last operational voyage visit ... TERRA NOVA was decommissioned on 11 July 1997. These images are scanned from color prints that I took. As you can see, I focused on "details".

Found this close up of HMCS Kootenay's Limbo.

The 4th and 5th photos show part of the limbo well on HMCS Gatineau
http://www.radioman.ca/1968.htm

I know they're from Restigouche-class ships but they might prove somewhat useful.

I ran around on Flickr trying to find one of those random crew taken shots of the area but couldn't find any taken on HMCS ships. Plenty of RAN and RN though... I gave my Jane's books a look too but no joy there either.

Hope they help.

It isn't FRAZER and it is out of focus, but it is a view into the Limbo Well.

There is a bulkhead with a step in it. I can get you more info in a few days.

does anyone know if the towing array on the stern is open to the morters,or is there a bulkhead between them.i cannot find any pic or info on this area.i will have to find this out before the deck is put on as it would not be nice trying to do it after the fact.thanks.
