Beside ships in scale 1/350, my passion in modelling is armor in scale 1/87 (H0) and here I nearly finished last year a bigger diorama.
The diorama shows a scenario next to Berlin in March 1945 with some mixed German Forces on the way to the area of operations � with the chaotic mix to use what was left available.
As hard as Berlin was bombed by allied Air Forces, the smaller cities like Potsdam next to Berlin were until March / April 1945 nearly un-bombed beside some miss- or emergency drops. But even after becoming a target, the destructions were in comparison to most other cities harmless � one of the reasons why Potsdam was chosen to become the location for the meeting of Stalin, Truman and Churchill later.
The tanks and vehicles are all from Herpa (ex Rocco Minitanks) and Trident, all upgraded with things from aftermarket and scratch building. Figures are all from Preiser an hand painted by me with some modifications and re-modelling. The tram was a cheap 5,00 EUR toy I found by chance and which I over worked too and repainted in correct color.
The houses etc. are all from modelling railway aftermarket and overhauled too. The road is hand made.

One of the 2 Henschel 33 towing 8.8cm guns from Berlin air defense forces. The German Forces were of course clear inferior and at artillery in special. Out of this the AA guns which defended Berlin were brought into action and towed by whatever was left and able to do. These guns were in majority manned with teenagers and older / out of earlier wounding restricted useable air force personal.
