Victorious had quite an interesting carreer and flew many types of aircraft during her lifetime.
She started with the trusty old Fairey Swordfish in 1941 and ending her days in 1968 with the Buccaneer Mk2 and Hawker Siddeley Sea Vixen.
She was on loan to the U.S. Navy during 1945 as U.S.S. Robin and returned back to British control after hostilities ceased.
She went into dockyard hands in 1950 for a major modernisation, costing 20,000,000. and recommissiond in Feb 1958 having been lengthened by 40 ft and given an angle deck.
Here is a list of the aircraft she carried throughout her career.
Fairey Swordfish Mk 1
Fairey Albacore Mk 1
Fairey Fulmar Mk 2
Grumman Martlet Mk 1V
Hawker Sea Hurricane Mk 1B
