I must say that this is probably one of the best builds of this "awful" kit I've ever seen.
I got this kit in 1953 as a gift (original square box, etc.) when I was 7 years old and built it like any other kid at the time - didn't really matter as to colors or details!! Many, many years later I was building it again while serving on board USS NEW JERSEY off the coast of Vietnam - and gave it to one of the officers sort of incomplete at this time when we decommissioned the ship in Dec. 1969. I swore I'd had the last of that kit.
So, kudos to you for sticking with it - you've actually made it into something decent rather than the mess Revell created at the git-go.
