Then I misunderstood your comment.
In a "how to" section on another modeling site (a little while back), a fellow came up with a tool using "EverGreen" square stock glued into a "T" shape with a few pieces of "Half-round" stock attached around the edge of the "T". Just place it in the tub and set the PE on top of it..but not all tubs are the same size or shape so several kinds would be needed. And it still requires spacers between each level to keep them all equal
I tried it and it works. But it requires one to make a jig for each type or shape of tub they are working on...and the end result looked no better than the "shim/spacer"...so I don't know......
