Top section is only attached when the awning is being rigged. Otherwise yes, they are stowed. Where, I have no idea but given the shear amount of stanchions capable of using that upper section, they're a good amount of them. I'll see if I can find out where they found them when they rigged the awning. We've only had it up since July or so.Fliger747 wrote:Thanks for the photos of the awning stanchions. The upper portion is removed and stored somewhere? I like to be able to rotate my turrets so will probably have at least some with the top stowed. Still somewhat at odds as to how to fabricate these in 1:192.
They were laid bow to stern correct? Each one is hinged at it's base.Fliger747 wrote:Trying several methods for the 0-1 stanchions; split Bamboo into square sections and slightly tapered; the smallest plastruct I beam I could find, tapered both ways. I did find a photo of the 16-2 mount firing to stbd, with the stanchions laid flat.
Which turret rangefinder and to what sponsons on the O-1?Fliger747 wrote:Question: how many stanchions are there from abeam the turret rangefinder aft to the O-1 deck sponsons?

Are you talking about from where the 40mm saluting guns are to where the deck house angles in toward Turret 2's barbette?
Let me know by Sunday night.
