Those blast bags turned out really well! The hull, too, of course.
De quoi s'agit-il?

Re: re-do of old 1/535 Iowa revell
This morning I was wondering if I should not do my 1/400 Kagnam Missouri at same time as this Iowa... as I'm doing them both as they where at Tokyo bay...
same painting scheme... I'm fully in the analysis of the differences between them...etc
so I just cleaned up, glued a few necessary stuff... and after about 4 Hours...

Re: re-do of old 1/535 Iowa revell
your inboard prop shafts should be in the middle of the skegs not mounted on the outside nope they should be there where I placed them
your outboard props appear to be to far out as should be closer to the skegs...I don care its a matter of mm
you finish one ... or show us a FINISHED ship and we talk and pls David stop giving links to projects or in build that never get finished... a finished ship... nothing else

Triumph68. Thanks for keeping up with the photos and posting of your progress. I am enjoying your work. This is a great project. I bet we all have a Revell 1/535 Iowa class BB in the stash somewhere.
David, Thank you for the those links. The general plans are indispensable. ( Prop shafts: pages 13 and 17, enlarged to 150%, are excellent for prop shaft placement. )

Lovely job on the main gun turrets Triumph68. The blast bags and recoil bands look really good. Looking forward to further updates.

Re: re-do of old 1/535 Iowa revell
As I wasn't happy with the seam between deck and hull( there shouldn't be one)...and some of the bottom seams gave holes I didn't see when unpainted so I redid some stuff, repainted red, black and next will be blue ... also had forgotten the little pipes or what ever they are on the rear of the 40 mm protection wall
made some new 40 mm protection walls with the side of a Railing PE, did some more on the seaplanes... etc.... lots of small stuff on this ship

Re: re-do of old 1/535 Iowa revell
as I wasn't really happy with the protection wall for AA on turret 2... cut the square corners and replaced it with curves... needs fine tuning but will be better
on turret 3 I thought I'd try something to make it look more real... the Cu wire is 0.3mm
