Greetings all,
Apparently my previous thread fell off the end of the earth.....oh well. Just a quick update on the project; I've spent the last few modeling
sessions working on the forward stack detail. Do
you think the handwheels was a touch too far?! Still have to add the
whistle which I'm currently carving.
Have quite a bit to add yet, but thought I'd share these in-process pictures
with you.

Good modeling to all,

Bruce, where you been?

Looking great! I am still planning on a conversion on the Tamiya kit. Can't wait to see more progress.

Thats unreal! even with my glasses on I can hardy even see the hand wheels, how on earth do you handle these parts?

I will not be attempting to detail my Herrier carrier to that level, I would never live long enough to finish it.

regards

Greetings all,
Bruce, where you been?
Well Avery, life has a bad habit of interjecting itself into my modeling time and this last couple of months have been real winners!

Anyway, I will be the first to admit that my soldering skills, well.......stink!! So the other day I was wondering through a Railroad store and spied these rails and
thought I'd give them a try; I'm still not sure how I feel about the look other than its in place. What say you all?

The railings look pretty nice! None of that PE 'rectangular' look. The rest is awesome too!

Bruce.

your soldering may not be up to par, but I think every one would agree your plastic sculptures more than compensate, makes the cast door look completely second rate.

Great job! Beatiful bridge. Wouldn't have noticed the soldering, if you hadn't said something, and it still looks great!

I think the rails look great - far better than PE would at that scale.

I think the rails might be a little heavy but, they look much better than PE and building them from plastic rod would be very time consuming. Good choice!

Well friends,

I have reached the point where I'm calling the forward stack finished! I'm not sure of the time spent but I counted 203 pieces total. Now all I have to do is paint it. I've already started working on the aft stack, but I'm thinking that is going to take a little longer as the detailing is wearing!!

So for your viewing pleasure.

Should never take large pictures......always shows the mistakes!! How well.

Good modeling all,

Bruce

P.S. thanks for the feedback on the railing....think I'll go with this and continue practicing the soldering for a future project.

Hi Guys,
BWRoss11,
Case in point; only you can see your mistakes!
I don't see any.
Truly inspired effort!

Greetings all,
Thanks all for the compliments and encouragement; I'll be posting some updates on the aft stack in a few days. In the meantime, since the previous post and pictures fell off the board, Reid here are some pictures, albeit old, of the hull.
