USS Enterprise CV 6 'Battle of Midway' 1/700

Although most of the reader should already be familiar with the battle of midway I'm still going to write something about it anyway :v

The Premise
In the morning of June 4th 1942 during the opening stage of the Battle of Midway. USS Enterprise CV-6 under Task force 16 Commanded by Rear Admiral Raymond A. Spruance is launching a strike against the Japanese Task force.



I've actually finished this build since august and upon realizing that writing a medium post and post a photo to facebook is a horrible idea
of archiving thing for people to read I've decide to post it here as well. I hope my build could help other people build their own model
of this very iconic ship in one of her darkest hour.

The build log can be found on my medium post. I've decided to put it there in the first place because it's very convenient writing something there.

Thanks, I do plan to build all the Yorktown class carrier at some point. I'm currently building USS Belleau Wood CVL 24 the way she look in Aug-Oct 1944 when she supposedly wore a dazzle camouflage.

I'll definitely build something from 1942 again later this year.

Great looking model. I too like the Stuka on the flight deck, adds a bit of levity to the story and a sense of scale to the Stuka to boot. I am doing the 1/200 Enterprise and your images show the 1.1 mounts to good effect, so I will be using your images for references.

Very nice work. I'm building the same model, just did the post-wash matte clear coat, and ready to do oil paint rendering. It really is a nice kit. The only odd thing is how they depict the forward elevator well, but otherwise it goes together great, and the PE fits very well.

You have done a Beautiful job!! With the A/C (flaps!!) spinning props, colors, even the ocean diorama.

The history of This carrier is ..... Well it is Truly EPIC, too bad it was scraped in the end.
