Have started work on a 1:600 scratchbuilt SS Oriana. Early days yet. She has soooooo many decks!

That looks pretty nice. My only foray into near that scale was a 1:515 model of the DE Whitehurst. I can appreciate why most small scale models are waterline, from the distance we view them they look more natural that way. Also props, shafts, rudders, bilge keels etc are a PITA at that scale if you are scratch building. I was able to print decent inclined and vertical ladders without resorting to PE, which was the point of the project.

Looks to me a comely ship!

Cheers: Tom

Looking very nice. Will you be doing the white hull or the corn colored hull?

I'm going for the corn coloured hull. But that is a long way away!

Work is progressing, albeit slowly!

The funnels need to be replaces as does the structure supporting the fore funnel. I'm not happy with either of them at the moment.

The stern is proving to be a complex build but we'll get there eventually!

So many bays one might have to take their shoes off to count! Certainly not a ship to deploy in great following seas! A beauty never the less!

Basic hull is done, masked and primed. Now drilling out the portholes before airbrushing the white upperworks. It's begining to look like the Oriana!

Made more progress on the build. Still a way to go with the detailing but getting there.

Nice one. I see you have added an interesting variety of lifeboats/excursion vessels over the past few weeks. Did you scratchbild them or did you take them from kits?
