I have been unable to find any serious reference material describing the different types of IJN Catapults or even how they functioned. I am specifically looking for information on the Type 4 system, though it would be great if there were a true reference on all of the different types. I don't mind tracking books down but I am unaware if such a book (or even a serious article) even exists. If anyone can point me in the right general direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
My interest in the Type 4 system is because it was used as a basis to create a mechanically launched bridge systemin the late 30's.
Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Lacroix and Wells Japanese Cruisers of the Pacific War covers IJN catapults in one of its appendices.
If time allows, I will try to review some info.

I'm not sure I know what you are referring to. Is there a particular ship, or ships, that mounted this version?the Type 4 system is because it was used as a basis to create a mechanically launched bridge system in the late 30's.
