Thank you for these nice comments! I do appreciate them.

This model is actually still in progress. In this photo, the boats are re-arranged so that they are carried on the
correct sides of the ship. Since this photo, I have shortened the painter to the starboard boat.

She still needs the emergency conn position added on the amidships deckhouse, and may get re-rigged with
thinner halyards. I also hope to build a water base, which will be another "first" for me.

Norman Friedman's new book British Destroyers and Frigates (London: Chatham, 2006), 17678, gives interesting
background information about this design. I am pleased that nothing needs changing in this model.

Other RN models in early progress include a type 15 frigate and a Leander-class frigate (batch 2 modernization:
Exocet, Seacat, Lynx). As with Barrosa, I am in contact with veterans of the actual ships. Also I have two
never-were post-war RN designs started but they have lower priority.

I love this build, its about as good as it gets and hard to believe its such a small scale.

I wouldn't call that rope a 'painter' though....the painter stays with the seaboat.....the rope I believe you're talking about is known in the RN as a 'boat rope'.....nit-picking I know

In the US Navy, the rope indeed is called the "sea painter". Perhaps not named that way in HM Navy?

It should be made up to the inboard cleat on the boat, and it looks as if Michael has it that way.

And I agree that it is an outstanding build.
