1/350 Ford
Seems like in a couple of days we'll know how large a mortgage to apply for the Trumpy Ford, plus the extras to make it in the new Kennedy or Enterprise.
My estimate is above 300 for the kit alone.

.
"Adventures in Plastic" (AIP) are the sub-company of Bachmann who have previously been known for "Thunderbirds" models. They have announced a 1/350th HMS Belfast (1942) kit, supposedly due out in the UK about Christmas 2024, or January 1925.
This seems to be in some sort of association with Trumpeter and Academy.

Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Jadlam lists it as an "reissue" in the description, and the "520+ parts" is the same as how the Trumpeter kit is described. Not sure what Academy's role is here, but I'd be surprised if this is anything more than the Trumpy kit with an added IWM endorsement (as seen on the boxart). Bachmann's role might be merely to make it acceptable to sell the kit at IWM's gift shops now that it's under a "British" brand rather than Chinese.philgollin wrote: "Adventures in Plastic" (AIP) are the sub-company of Bachmann who have previously been known for "Thunderbirds" models. Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
This release is a result of marketing and copyright; HMS Belfast is a trademark so Trumpeter can't sell their kit quite so easily within the UK - you still can't get the 1:700 one here unless you import.
Bachmann were working on adding it to the AIP range for quite some time. At least, according to my local rep who always insisted I ''stayed tuned'' whenever I asked him what was happening RE the 700 one! Interesting that they opted for the 1:350.

AFV Club had already announced this kit in 1/700 scale last year in Veldhoven, now it is at least in the new products list together with various photo-etched part sets for variants of the Oliver Hazard Perry and Knox class:

And hot on the heels of one Arizona in 1/350 announcement, we have #2. Posted on Facebook this morning-
Early phase, interesting to see where it goes. The render does show 1.1s in place so, hopefully they are just including them as an option and not as an indication of poor research
And notice the DD beside the Arizona, that will be the USS Smith DD-17 A WWI era USN DD in injection plastic, color me intrigued

I would watch out for that Arizona model as the torpedo bulges appear to be to round compared to this link. http://www.researcheratlarge.com/Ships/ ... B39_09.jpg
the cad drawing shows 4 anchors but only 3 chains so what is holding the 4th anchor in place?
the hull plating is overscaled & I don't think in the right layout.
the turret sloped sides might be sloped to much as tho the turrets are to wide which means the barbettes are to wide which would explain the spacing of the gun ports in the turret's face.
what are those 2 groups of 11 splotches on the upper deck on either side of the main turrets?
I wonder if the plans for this model came from a pc game like "World of Warships" or similar as that is what it looks to me. I have the plans for the main turrets besides the Booklet of General Plans 1941 for the ship.
the destroyer's plating is overscaled compared to the real thing. http://www.navsource.org/archives/05/pix1/0501702.jpg

The Castle class from Triumph was released back in 2022 and is actually a resin kit (note the Ebay store stole their images from Hobby Search, watermark and all).Guest wrote:browsing like you do 2 new model by 2 new model makers well to me https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267035912941 neverlaND 1/700 hms VICTORY and https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266620591167 ... Re: *Inj. molded plastic* Upcoming Ship Kit Releases
Dan, i think there are issues with that model.
1: hull plating pattern above the armor belt is wrong shape & overscaled.
2: elevator #3 should be about same dimensions as elevator #2.
3: starboard bow 5" gun platform should be overhanging from the hull not flush as appears on the model's pictures.
