I agree about the new Takao. I'm impressed by what I see so far. Eliminating the hull bulge joints as well as the sidewall joint above it is a big deal. And those turrets are beautiful; no aftermarket PE required for those.

Figures. I have a 1/4 built Aoshima Takao on the ways. Waterlined and linoleum tie-downs stripped. Sigh.

I feel your pain, Devin. Mine is not waterlined, but the main deck is painted and superstructure halfway finished. Too much time and money invested in this kit to buy the Very Fire kit.

Does anyone have a photo sample of the New Mexico Trumpeter is said to be releasing? I'm wondering which era the kit will represent. A unique opportunity to have a 1930s battleship configuration.

Mother of god. If this means '44-'45 Idaho is going to follow sign me up. Hoping for all the standards at some point, but would definitely like the NM class in their 1930s configuration.

1/350. Trumpeter's 1/350 kits have numbers beginning with 053.

All VEE hobby kits to date are 1/700. They also have a USS Honolulu announced and a USS Independence for sale on AliExpress.

Ah... finally one of the injection manufacturers is paying attention to the Brooklyn class! WHOLE lot of opportunities available with those!

Will it have a hull? I'm thoroughly sick of companies introducing models of ships I've wanted to build for decades, but then finding out that they're only going to be selling the top half.

Their previous 1/700 offerings have been waterline only so I'm assuming their latest offering will also follow that trend. I'm also not a fan of waterline only so I'll pass on this one as well.

Any chance we'll see a 1/350 USS California? Early or late is good.

You can find it on ebay in 3D. Of course, the price is higher but the quality is very good for these kits.
