In other news, Fujimi seems to be planning a carrier-converted Ibuki

Fujimi is doing a re-release of Myoko in full hull, as well as a "very limited" re-release of their Amagi battlecruiser including some deluxe editions!

I wonder if it will also have parts for Princeton and the others in the same box, or if they plan further releases to cover the differences.

On Facebook, Border showing a new 1/350 Kongo or Kongo class plus a Atago heavy cruiser.

With Very Fire or is it Beaver corporate, are also doing a new Atago. Are these companies linked or just playing tit for tat just like them both doing Yamato?

Plenty of other subjects not done!!

CAD for Takao and Yamato from Very Fire in 1/700
The Takao is pretty cool, there is Fujimi + flyhawk PE to contend with but I would assume this is a bit nicer to put together whilst giving same or better detail. Will be interesting comparing the Yamato to Pontos'. Hopefully they will rescale their Atlanta to 1/700 next.

Also as a side note would it be a good idea to make a separate thread for aftermarket releases? especially given the multitude of 3D print stuff coming out of China and other countries recently

Most likely tit for tat, the Border and VF Yamatos have numerous differences with the Border kit having a number of accuracy/engineering problems not found in the VF kit

Flyhawk 1/700 Enterprise has been released - mine arrived tonight

Lots of unfinished model ships + attention issues = A busy slipway where nothing gets done!

Yes, I got mine last week. A nice kit by all standards, a Flyhawk usual.

Except the damned plating. I mean, why?

the plate just above the bilge keel, how far forward & aft does it go as it might be the armor belt according to the Yorktown Booklet of General Plans 1940?

It matches what was presented on the renders.

But I mean that crazy overscale hull plating. I don't really get where they come to these bricks...

Scylla's been on Trumpeter's release list for quite a few years, so its appearance on Scalemates doesn't mean much. That said, Trumpeter's site does list it in their April 21 update for a June release, so that's a solid update.

Aotori ( ? who ? ) 1/350th USS Atlanta and USS San Diego due in UK in June

I receive the HLJ newsletter and the latest announced ship kits are the Aotori ( ? who ? ) 1/350th USS Atlanta and USS San Diego due in UK in June.

See ;

https://www.hlj.com/search/?q=*&product ... ry%3AShips#

UK cost is 84.15, reduced from a nominal 105.17.

I searched google but could not trace the company "Aotori".

Whether this will get into the USA, or not, (and at what price) I cannot say.

Given the boxart and contents, it's clearly the Very Fire kits, repackaged for the local market.

In case it wasn't mentioned before, Triumph Model will be releasing HMS Vanguard in a waterline/full hull version in 1/700 in August 2025
