Well, the Desktop Yamato Archive project is progressing ... have about a dozen (at most) new Ten-ichi-go photos to add that I just got this week ... and update a bit of text ... then put it all in the right order ... as you can see, we're up to 237 pages (and 94MB in file size  ) ... Oh, Shatner was so right ... "This is gonna be BIG"! :heh:

A preview of the first two pages ...

Hi every body, I'm approaching on building the tamya premium Yamato.
I'm purchasing several expansion kits, but unfortunately I can't find the cockboats on the sides of the hull.
These ones

Lion-roar doesn't exist anymore so it's impossible to find the product.
Does anyone know a substitute of that product? I think it would give a better visual impact instead of the default one of the tamya kit.
Thanks to all

There's one of those Lionroar sets on Ebay right now. Alliance Modelworks also made one so you could try searching for that too.

(to be clear, you're looking for the davits, not the boats themselves?)

Hello,

I'm currently working on the Takom 1/72 Yamato turret. There is a railing on top of the turret made of 27 poles and two rows of rails between them. Were these made of rope, steel-cable or chains? My references are weak on this detail, maybe someone can help me here?

The "poles" are "stanchions" and the material of the rails is/appears, to be steel wire rope.
See Page 55 of bucket-foot al's excellent big photo collection link posted earlier.
