So I am taking a break from my 1/100 scale Victory rigging .. Thought I do a nice jet aircraft model to go with my 1/72 scale S3 Viking.. Anyways it has been anything but a relaxing build.. Im building a 1/72 scale F14 tomcat.. Black Aces from the gulf of Sidra incident .. It is in low vis gray.. I primed with a spray can black ,then revell email gray in the small tins like humbrol used to have.. then a tamiya clear simi gloss so I can lay down decals and accent panel lines .. The revell gray is cracking.. I think its the Tamiya ..simi gloss.. they are all supposed to be enamels .. Sigh ..very frustrating oh how I miss the model master paint line
.. Anyone had this problem ?

Same here for missing the old Model Master paints. Anyway, enamels are only fully cured after 24 hours so not enough time between coats may have caused this. Also, different brands with same solvent are still different brands so some reactions between layers are possible.

I hear you. Been there, done that! The Tamiya clear is a lacquer that does not play well with some enamels. Great clear coat in the right place, but it’s super “hot”.
