I bought mine via Hobby search where it's called the Wave micro rivet punch; other shops may have in in store too (Japanese price below $17, so comparatively cheap too). It goes down to a quarter of a mm.

Anchor time!

Image

I only had to paint and install the anchors; I scratchbuilt them a long time ago, together with the ships: viewtopic.php?p=920731#p920731

Image

But I hadn’t built the anchor buoys yet, so I did this now:
Image

In place, with its ropes:
Image

On the starboard side, the anchors were dislodged by the roundshot damage to the cathead, and by scraping past Redoutable’s hull. Well, at least in my diorama they are… 😉
So, only the buoy is left, and some broken fastening chain:

Some views on the port anchors:

… and with a little piece of lumber for scale:

Perrrrfect!

I may sound like an old scratch record, but here it goes (again):
This is amazing, Marijn!

What a delight to see all those details - I am loving this build blog

Carry on!
Cheers,

Well... another double fracture of the cornea and a strained optic nerve...

I enjoy it every time and I've exhausted my stock of superlatives!

Meanwhile, I added the gun-port lids.

I had built and base-coated these couple of years ago, but now I weathered them, added rings to them, glued them in place, and added the lanyards.

Simple enough, but time-consuming because there is a fair number of them (and the lanyards were rather fiddly). The damaged lids were the most fun!

With those in place, the hull is completely finished. So, I can return to the rigging next!

Marijn, the Victory is looking more and more 'ugly', day by day now!

Don't get me wrong: the uglyness is really fantastic! It really sets this dio apart from any superbly built Victory I ever saw before. I can't wait to see the ship with all the dragged sails, dead in the water... But that will take many more months I guess...

Thank you Maarten!
Yes, models of battle damaged ships of the line a rather rare, which is one of the reasons I wanted to have a go at it.
I am adding to the ugliness at this moment: adding damage to the shrouds and ratlines. ;)
And you are right, next up will be the spars with their sails and rigging. And you are right too that this will take multiple months for sure. But it's a nice challenge that I'm really looking forward to now!

WooooooooW!

(this is silly, but I do NOT WANT TO WRITE AGAIN: It's Fantastic)!
If I ever see this live, I will spend hours looking at all the details, Marijn!

Rejoice, Rui!
The best detail you'll see on all these photos published by Marijn! It's so tiny (and lighting conditions on shows are mediocre at best) that you won't see all that detail, unless you'll have the dio in front of you on a desk, with excellent lighting (and optivisors)!
So for spending those intended hours of admiration you best book a flight to Brussels and an overnight stay at Marijn's in Belgium!

(I don't know whether Marijn was prepared to host an object for pelgrimage... With dinner and breakfast!)

Hi there Marijn and all,

I was always sure your rigging was going to be fantastic, but I never imagined you were taking it this far, this good. I am speechless everytime I get into your thread. I love to see the progress.

Keep them coming, and very best regards,

Willie.

Hahaha! That wouldn't be the first modellers staying over at my place. But I wouldn't dare to charge anything for my poor hospitality skills though! ;)

Meanwhile, I added battle damage to the shrouds and ratlines.
Those pristine shrouds and ratlines looked pretty, but they don’t really fit to the battle-feel I’m after… :)
