I've been working on a pretty big project lately. Some of you may have seen that the underwater survey company Magellan has not only filmed the wreck of the German battleship Bismarck in high resolution, but also scanned the entire ship just as they did with Titanic.
I was lucky enough to be a part of this project and guided the ROV pilot along with Mike Brady during the filming of the main hull. A culmination of decades of research into Bismarck and her crew. It was such a massive honor to be involved at this level.
I'm the official English biographer of her captain, Ernst Lindemann, and Bismarck has been my passion for 25 years. I thought original research into Bismarck was pretty much over and we’d learned all we could. How wrong I was!
A big thanks to Magellan and Oceanliner Designs for this one. I couldn’t have been more humbled and proud to be involved.
If anyone wants to see more of the footage and see the 3d scan you can find it here:

Re: Magellan Visits Bismarck Wreck
Very, very interesting but sadly no basic commentary, identifying some of the wreckage was ok, funnel but others struggled

We now have a full series on the magellan channel where Drachinifel, Mike Brady, and myself go through each video and discuss what we're seeing

How amazing it must have been to be part of that. Great work.
