Thank you very much Martin. I did come across this photo, but you can't see if the mounts have the low shield with flanges on the forward part of the base like the Mod 30 mount. I know some of the CVs had the low shield mount and some didn't. It doesn't look like the shield is there because what is there just doesn't seem high enough and the right shape. I have looked for other photos from 1942 to 1945 of any of the gun stations with the 5"/38 singles and have not found any that you can make out the detail. I will keep looking. Thanks again.

Little tighter zoom. Looks like front has the low shield, at least to me

it has the shield as I saved the previous picture showing the 2 5" & the quad 1.1" gun mounts then used windows picture viewer to blow up the picture to have a closer look at the fronts of the 5" gun mounts.
