Wouldn't it be great, if the box included scale to scale (so if 1:700 ship then 1:700 drawing) of ship's camouflage pattern? Something one can cut out after transferring the pattern from the master to masking tape?
I had this thought after I looked at another card / artwork that duplicates what's on the box cover... And I definately not going to display those... If I wanted to - I would cut the box art out... And recycle the paper that way..... Otherwise not only paper ends up in trash, but we could be doing something better with the box content.
I do not mean this as disrespect to the artists work on the box cover. I think the box art itself is already great enough. The extra postard adds very little ..
I believe some people on this forum worked with Flyhawk on their recent kits, from HOOD to DOY to carriers... may be they could pass the word when next cooperation comes.
The kits in deluxe form are 90 EUR now... Perhaps I could get an extra piece of paper included that won't cause financial hit for the company and yet add so much time saving value?
Back to looking at Tirpitz camouflage instructions in 10x8 cm...

Yes, model kit manufacturers could absolutely do this, but the reason it isn’t an industry standard comes down to economics, physics, and practical limitations. Here is why it rarely happens:
Space and paper costs: The 4- or 5-view drawings of a larger ship (even in 1:700 scale, let alone 1:350) take up a massive amount of space. This cannot fit at a 1:1 scale into a booklet-sized instruction manual, and including separate, large-format color posters would significantly increase production costs.
Paper distortion: Printing paper can expand or shrink slightly due to changes in humidity and temperature. What is 1:700 on paper might differ by 1–2 millimeters from the actual plastic model, which would already mean inaccuracy for modelers.
Three-dimensional surfaces: A ship's hull and superstructure are curved, 3D surfaces. Masking tape cut from a two-dimensional (flat) paper drawing would inevitably shift or wrinkle when applied to the curves of the ship.
In the modeling hobby, there is a very clear division of labor: the main manufacturers (like Tamiya, Revell, or Academy) provide the "base kit" (the plastic parts), while aftermarket companies provide the premium extras. Many modelers simply don't want to deal with complex camouflage schemes, so they wouldn't want to pay the extra cost for something they won't use.
