Convert a simple plastic ship to an R/C ship?

any links ? ie if someones already done one of these?


Is the following possible?
convert a simple plastic model into an r/c ship?
other than the obvious what would i require

(by obvious i mean: remote, reciever, motor, battery etc)

anything special to make the boat float? ie extra styrofoam?

Here is a great website to do just that with the venerable Lindberg Diesel Tug kit:

I've converted a Revell Flower corvette to RC, quite easy, just make sure you get your entrance points big enough.... :big_grin:

There are a few modelers on RCGroups.com who are modifiing Lindberg, Revell, Tamiya, and even Toys. Check in the Scle Boat forum.
