U-505 Repaint

Was reading about the capture of U-505 in 1944. It was mentioned that after the capture, she was towed to Bermuda for exploitation. To keep the Germans from realizing she was not sunk, the statement was made: "The U-505 was repainted to look like a US Gato-class ship and renamed the USS Nemo." However, no details were given as to the paint scheme. Does anyone have any info on how she was repainted? Were any deceptive markings applied? It could make for a fascinating model, similar to captured German and Japanese aircraft that were repainted in US markings.
