Fixing card to plastic-Carrier Flightdeck

Hi all. I'm working ont he 1/350 Kuznetsov, which is a really nice Trumpeter kit. Good fun to build, especially with the PE available. Anyways, i've been putting off the flightdeck, but i've given a printed flightdeck a try.

I've basically designed it in a CAD program, with all colours of markings matched from photos. it looks so good! I printed it on card, and tried weathering it a bit with chalks, and it works like a charm. my problem however, is how to attach card to the plastic deck of the model. Anyone got any ideas? I thought perhaps of caoting the print out in varnish, and then just glueing it. What do you all think?

Anyone tried anything like this before?

Hi Robbo,
I used a similar technique to produce printed strips to simulate the bulwark panelling for a 1/350th Cutty Sark I have. I printed it out on high resolution paper then cut them out and glued them in place with white glue. Not such an area as a flight deck, mind. but the principle should be the same. I'd be inclined to experiment on scraps first to make sure I had the right glue. arnishing is a good idea - make sure it's anti UV, though, because Jetprint inks aren't amazingly durable...

I'd be concerned with white glue on a large card surface, I think the water in it -- and that stuff is almost all water -- would warp the paper.

I'd look for some spray adhesive. I've been using this stuff with a new dry transfer decal system I just bought and it's working pretty good. I might even try it when I need to put my Nautilus wood deck on my Trumpy Essex.
