problem with paint

i had recently bought the l'arsenal 1/350 forecastle replacement deck for the tamiya Missouri.. I painted it an appropriate color with acryl model master maritime colors... Much to my surprise, the paint began to peel off of the resin ( you can literally sneeze on it and it would blow some off)....anyone have any ideas why that might be happening?

Did you wash it with soap and water? It may have mold release on it. I would also use a good primer before applying the acrylic.

Best thing to do with resin is to clean it with warm soapy water, let it dry, then spray a coat of primer paint onto the surface, let it dry, THEN paint the color you want it to be.

I've done this on all my resin stuff and have had no problems at all.

I had washed it with some soap and water ahead of time, kind of an odd occurance....
