Over the last 7 years on this site I have tried to show different ways to do hulls , superstructure, small fittings.
Models like North Carolina, Iron Duke, and Moffet, and a very short sections of photo,s on the Star Purseus build, N C and ID both had balsa wood plank on frame hulls , you will not find many stronger hulls out there in model land, Im not saying do what I do, thats up to the individual, but please dont try to influance some one thats yours is the only method, because its not, yes its a good idea, if you have the money to spend on expensive woods , fittings, p/e, shop bought shafts and A frames, I chuck up the idea that there,s an alternative, there,s guys on some of these web sites that are building superb models, taking years .
Here if the build goes on to long they tend to loose interest, like I said at the beggining I been here 7 years , and I am thinking its time I was not here, I have not endeared myself to some of the guys, last week I was told not to hurt myself patting myself on the back, I was defending number of post in ID AND Moffett, against Calling all ship fans, some one had not noticed these two threads were the highest number of hits on the site, so I will bow out from scratchbuilding another subject, I will just over look all the great builds going on now, and keep doing the mod work.

Thanks to all the modellers that have supported my builds , look after scratch because this is where all the idea,s are, and people come to pick your brains, ARH

Yep it's again that speech. You just need some confirmation on your work and it is, as you obviously know, some of the best.

But then it 's of course your call Ron, maybe it's indeed time for others to try and mess around a bit and show what they end up with. Maybe some screw up topics of mine will be better to learn people how not to do things. You make it seem all very simple, too simple sometimes. Not everyone has those skills and maybe it's better for people to see different methods and mistakes.

I'm already happy if you from time to time give us an update as we often do on our builds. No need to rush, no need to update every day. I'm already happy if your eye is watching our attempts and sometimes directs us to a better way!
In fact, I'm going to post a topic on that scratch build submarine I'm making.

Have a nice day!

What kind of Admiral are you? Striking the colors!!!! This isn't the Admiral HHHH that fought the Pirates. Don't let a few jealous people who don't have the skills you do get you down. Continue with the cruise. Their petty shots will just bounce off your steel hull. There are more people on this board who enjoy your builds. The rest of them don't really matter. Keep up the good work. You might even get good enough to become a Pirate Admiral. :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Now i know we all want Ron to keep posting, but lying to him is not always the best solution....

I am not quite sure if I understood the reason you resign here. Your models are excellent! Your techniques are splendid (and keep us all learning!). So I didn't get the reason, why you don't post reports of your builds anymore - but maybe it is due to my lack of understanding what you wrote...?

Anyway, I hope you stay present in this forum. I am not very long subscribed here, but I hope that you will be there to give hints, tipps and hopefully show new projects.

PLEASE Ron, dont let small minded or envious people put you off.
Because of you showing that R/C MODELING can be done cheaply and to a high standard i have taken the plunge. The build of the Moffet has been an insperation to myself and i'm sure to many others.
The plans are done and i now have enough green backs to get some material to start the build. But i'm still going to need inspiring

I agree with Roy. I am planning on a 1/350 Fuso. The moffet and Dino's Barham are my two great inspirations, although Moffet is nowhere near my Fuso's scale, the build inspired me to try a rarity among Fuso models: Fuso in 1924 with no massive pagoda and two funnels. I was very much looking forward to Duane. If you don't post the build, at least show us the finished product. We'll have lost a great asset to the forum if you do not post anymore builds. :thumbs_up_1: :frown_2: :pout: :wave_1:
