I have heard that two CVAs have moved into the Arabian Sea.
Can anyone confirm this?

USS Nimitz is in the North Arabian Sea along with John C. Stennis;
The USS Bataan is in the Gulf of Aden, Bon Homme Richard is with the CVNs.

A lot of power projection....

If an unfriendly power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.

along with an amphibious assault ship and her own group - they are doing war games practicing a landing in Kuwait within the next few days.

Am I wrong, or have the Carrier's Islands been slowly moved aft over the years? Seems to me they were much further forward when I was a sailor. Is there a reason for this?

    Without any connection to the steam plant, they have been put aft where they are more helpful with landing operations.

    Only an idiot would attack now; the USAF says it needs three days to prepare the antiaircraft defenses. Even if that's one day, the second one gets very ugly....

    I'd say if you want to get on their nerves, send Predator UAVs on a continuous cover over 80,000 feet.

    They can probably make good with a salvo of SM-2ER4 or SM-3 launched from a cruiser.

    Because of the Cooperative Engagement System, the cruiser or destroyer can use the data stream from a Hawkeye or Hornet nearby to provide guidance if the engagement is beyond AEgis range,
