John do you plan to build something bigger than LHA/LHDs like Norfolk based CVNs?

Nektarios

With all the Trumpeter kits that are out, I am sure that the CVNs will be joining the fleet shortly. I think I want to finish the LHD3 and LHD7 first. I have held off the CVN and CVs because of case space. I have models all over the and would love to bring into one case. The list of carriers I will attempt are: CV66, CV67, CVN 65, CVN69, CVN70, CVN71, CVN73, CVN75.

Others that will be worked on shortly, CG72, LCC20 refitting, A Kidd class and two Osprey class. Plus the support ships.

So, my work will be cut out for me. :jump_1:

Some photos of AE-35 under construction. The build of the kit is very easy. These photos were taken on the 5th day of construction.

Nektarios - The Fifth Day!!! Wow It's look great. I will have to get one soon. I just created the decals for the AOE3, things like the crest and Banners on the bridge sections.

It is a very easily buildable kit. I will need 3-4 more days to finish the ship and then 4-5 days for the PE when it will become available( this will be in a week or two. A photo of AE-35 taken on the 7th day of construction.

My problem is that I can make any kit take forever. An example would be the JAG's AOE, great kit out of the tube. I decide that it should be the Seattle and started looking at pictures then proceeded to cut-off pieces here and there... Main reason (along with others), why nothing on my bench gets done quickly.

I would love to see a side by side of the AE next to AOE or JAG's new AO

Pretty soon you ll see photos of the AE next to AOE and then i ll start building Cimmaron and hope to finish it by the end of August. Then i ll take photos of all three types of U.S. replenishment ships and post them.

Looking great Nektarios. I am currently working on a strike group myself. I am almost finished with CVN 71 and I have a DDG, CG, and FFG in progress. The only thing I am debating is how to make the water. There are so many ways to do it that I have seen on this site. I am leaning towards the clear silicone method. Hope to have some pics posted soon.
