Primer problem

Post by bb-56 »

I sprayed my kitbash with testors flat primer yesterday and it still smells and it feels soft, is the can too old? why not grey automotive primer would that melt a plastic kit? and for that matter isnt red auto primer great for under hulls?

Doing a 1942 pennsylvania class kitbash from a MH 1/700.

Never have had a problem with Testor's primer. What's the weather like? If it's too cold or wet out, that could affect it. About the only other thing I could think of is did you shake the can (if you used a spray can) well? If you used it in an airbrush, what did you thin it with?
