That s the whole idea of building models. Doing what you wish with them after all they re your creations.

Nektarios

As requested AO-179 USS merrimack. The JAG kit managed to sneak into the foreground !!

Theres a whole host of improvements i could make, like redoing the stern, under the helo deck and the funnel to name but a few. But as this is my first proper scratchbuild, i'll let these things go this time. I did try to make an accurate funnel with balsa but couldn't quite get it right. Although the squarer one is wrong, as least its true/level/lined up etc

Time for some more filling and sanding before a grey primer coat to seee all the sanding/filing i've missed

Happy belated Birthday John ,Simon killer supply ship man will start back on the Henry J. Kaiser, wrist and fingers are healed sore but healed.Nice ships everyone.

Good work so far Simon especially considering that its your first attempt to scratchbuild.

Nektarios I sent you and Kid a personal E-mail a while back didn't know if you guys got it. Too many heavy meds man glad to get off them.Fingers are working still hurting a little but can manage cutting and drawing .Will be sending out photos of Henry J. in about a week. Let stand out too long in the open,lots of dust.

Some photos of my build of LCC-19. Its the old Waveline resin kit. I bought it in 2001 and i wish i knew that it would be released in plastic. The kit isn t bad but it requires lots of scratchbuilding, no dedicated decal set and its the 1998 version. I added several antennas and electronics in order to modernise it plus i uparmed it with 2 RAM launchers.

Very nice build of an odd-looking subject, Nektarios. I�ve always been impressed by the dismiss of any effort by the US Navy to make these command ships less ugly

And still, perhaps for that very fact, they are very interesting subjets.

Stunning CV-31!! Amazing work!!

I just started a project of my own, my first in a month or so. What with school and all, I just haven't had very much time at the workbench.

The subject is a LST-542 class Landing Ship Tank. I haven't decided which yet, but the plans represent LST-802 in 1956. I just started this evening, but I already have the hull almost finished. One side is glued on and needs to be trimmed, which I have since done. Not a very good pic, sorry.
