Tommy lad, This is only my second post in the last month or so, R/C and Scratch seems to have lost a lot of the people that used to be here about 6 months ago, they must be resting to.

Your right, it seems that RC/Scratch has been quiet as of late. Maybe it is because we need to spam it with updates and new projects.

Thing is I don't want to rest but I cannot do anything right now.

Hi Ron Just got back from a long long weekend. I'm really pleased that the litho did the trick and you could crack on with the plating.

Hi Guys, As you can see the hull plating is complete, it has taken a while, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

You can see the 4 rows of rivets at the keel section plates.

A close up of the bow.

One of the stern, the prop guard was fitted.

The bilge keel was fitted, these are over size, it will give the model a little bit more stability when she sails.

Port side. wash ports to be cut out.

Starboard side.

Kenny, With the lack of interest in the thread I am only posting little bits, in the last 3 updates only 5 have replied, so with winter coming on im not going in the shed as much, whats the point,

I've been trying to get litho plate here in the great white north but it's very very expensive. Is there anything else that you know of that would work. I've been thinking of trying .010 styrene but strange things happen with it when you use contact cement. Unless you or someone else knows of a brand of contact cement that is more styrene friendly.

WHAT THE POINT!!! THE POINT IS WE LOVE YOUR MODELS RON!!! As some have said before... isn't it sorta of redundant to say RON GOOD JOB over and over ... when we know YOUR WORK IS ALWAYS GREAT!!! I understand that if you want us to post WE WILL (or at least I will) you can only day good job so many ways...

You can always use thin card as a replacement for litho, fixed with waterproof white glue and then painted over with thined down glue to water proof.

Oh Ron, don't get so down hearted you know we all love you.....well not quite like that perhaps, but you know what I mean

I am waiting for the exciting-(to me!)-bits to come--superstructure and all the fiddly bits!

Hope the mild October weater will tempt you back out into the workshop...

Hey Guys, I have always enjoyed building and showing my some times unusual way of doing things, but just lately it has seemed it has dropped to a hand full of the same people posting, on the Moffett build not counting the pages I deleted to shorten the thread the number of names of different people who posted was 36, to me it seems they just got bored with seing nearly the same things again and again, so I slowed down the build and let some of the other guys have a look in.

I watch the scratch building board as much as possible. I followed the Moffet closely, and have read ARH's (and others) previous builds. Learned a bunch.
After 10+ years of grumbling about building a 1/96 operating model I even have the plug started in my garage here in Houston. I have been away from it for a while again as house/honey-do projects and summer heat have kept me away.
With the cooler weather and completion of the other projects, I am starting to again look forward to working on my Omaha class light cruiser.
