Naval History Magazine
If you can get ahold of the current USNI Naval History magazine, there are six or so pages on a modeler and his fabulous collection of 15th-19th Century ships. They are unbelievable!!
If an unfriendly power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.

That'd probably be about the only thing of quality left..
Enjoy AD Baker while you can... he was recently removed and will no longer be doing Historic Fleets.

Oh, he's still productive, but after I wrote in a letter of correction to them about an article he wrote about Nevada they apparently terminated his contract. If he has/is going to be reinstated I'm happy.... I was a little peeved at them for using me as an excuse to fire him. They forwarded on an edited version of my letter which sounded much harsher than my original.
He and I traded a bunch of e-mails over it and are on good terms.
