although i admit i never have 16 at a time, but there are plenty of friends in the area that have barns full of them.

All the old ww2 ships still left should be made usable and then private people could go "pirate hunting" on them. Imagine a pirate hunting adventure!

What's to keep private people from becoming pirate themselves?

Im not saying give them FULL control, but it would be like a rich rich man safari(as opposed to a rich man safari)....LOL

Although the USA is actually considering issuing "contracts of marque" to allow private contractors to operate in an anti-smuggling role, technically these have been illegal in international law for 100 years.

At least a private contractor can build or buy a ship that won't crack in half like the Coast Guard's, or cost a minimum of a half-billion dollars like the Navy.
