Thanks Nekatarios - great build and I look forward to trying my hand at building one. In a stunning reversal of previous posts, due to a couple of great eBay deals and a rapid shortage of shelf space, I am now proceeding with builds in 1/700-20 of Nimitz ('75), Enterprise ('64), and Reagan ('06). So much for 1/350 for now....

Look into my Eyes, you are feeling sleepy........... inside every 1/350 builder there is a 1/700 builder trying to escape............ Jumpppppppppppppp

Only joking, everyone to his/her own, if all the sponsons where available for a modern Nimitz i would more than likely have one or two on display

Happy modeling

John

Hmmmm...................John did you try the same thing (hypnosis) to convince your wife to marry you? :jest: :jest: :jest:

Just kidding. I wish you all the best for your marriage and to have everything you always wished for.

The 4 Ticos are FINALLY finished.
Image
CG-57 at its latest configuration.
Image
CG-70 configured as BMD test ship.

A closer look.

And a question. U.S. Navy plans were to have 3 Ticos as BMD ships. One of them is CG-70 homeported in Pearl Harbor, the second is CG-67 homeported at Yokosuka. What about the third one? Has another Tico been converted or it will be in the future?

TIA for any answers.

Hiya gtb, No progress on FDR as i am UK finalising things before i move over to SC to live, i have been working on a conversion of a Hancock to a Lake Champlain CVS-39 in a 1965-66 rig, i wish i had used the Dragon kit though instead of the trumpy kit. i may post pics in a day or so.

Happy modeling

John

I forgot that you were moving to the states. Starting of a conversion that's a lot of work man, give it to Nektarios he's all done with his work. :lol_1: Just kidding. Any how John i really put all my stuff done to work on this FDR,and tell you the truth i don't have any idea what made me do this. He's my friend dad ,but man now i know why they don't make this thing in 1/350. post tonight and tomorrow of work so far. :wave_1:

In a moment of total paranoia i have decided to start several different kits at the same time.

3x TOWADA CLASS AO 1/700.
2x KONGU CLASS DDG 1/700.
6x MURASAME CLASS DD 1/700.
1x AO-177 CLASS AO 1/700.

and later i decided to add 3 more Japanese postwar icebreakers to these.

i think i m becoming a little too much  even for my standards so i may need professional :help_1:

I go to school for a few months and Nektarios breaks out the full fleet. WOW!! that is very impressive. I am currently to busy to get any work done on my models, but I think I will take a break and at least work on something for a day. Finals projects are due in a week or so, this might be the break I need.

John
