..I decided to do this.
Also in 1/72, and naval related too....

One afternoon work, and this is what comes out....what ??? Would you like to know what this is ??? Perhaps you could try to guess.... :big_grin: :big_grin:
Obviously, not yet completed ( :lol_3: ), but I�ll be adding some more details, soon...
Lots of rivets to add to it, too... :lol_spit_1:

Rivets....my first thought was "looks like a submarine's conning tower" but it's much to large for that. Odd looking thing....c'mon, what is it?

Its a carrier superstructure....carrier�s name was "flying crane".... :big_grin:

The superstructure only....for now. I still have to finish Manila Bay. Building Shokaku is a possibility.
I�m facing this (small) build, like an exercise. I will use plastic only. No other material allowed.

Superstructure "skeleton" ready...now, let�s start adding some "skin"...and a lot of rivets too.... :lol_3:

A 1/72 Shokaku...dam...should you choose to build the entire thing, it'd be huge!

Actual count in my model stash:

- 6 out of 6 1/72 A6M2 Zeros needed (Hasegawa)
- 20 out of 26(??) 1/72 D3A1 Vals (Fujimi)

...To build Shokaku�s 1st attack wave against Pearl Harbour. At least, there won�t be any folding wings to build... :lol_3:

Jos� as also been posting many questions on the Shokaku in J-aircraft Forum, mainly about the hull, so I guess my �neighbour� is planning to build it in 2008 :thumbs_up_1:

Whoa!! A 1/72 Shokaku would be almost 12 feet long!! Keep us updated :thumbs_up_1:

The "Shokaku" project, is one that was started more than one year ago, and then suddenly came to a halt , mainly due to the death of Steve Nutall which was going to manufacture key components, such as AA barrels (125mm and 25mm) and 4 propeller shafts...

I decided to pick this project up recently, because I�ve found someone who can help me with that issue, but I�m not yet sure if I�ll take it to the end. I�m facing the "Shokaku island" more like an exercise (building with plasctic only, no other material allowed), to see what can I do...

Hey guess what ???...the day I took the following photo, I was probably under heavy medication.....each time I look at the photo, it seems to me that I can see not the beggining of one Shokaku, but TWO....Even more strange, one is named "Shokaku 1941" while the other reads "Zuikaku 1944"..... :lol_3: :lol_3: :lol_3: :lol_3:
