I've been considering buying a copy of this book, as the price from Amazon seems pretty reasonable right now. Question is, has anyone out there bought a copy and how valuable a reference book is it? It sounds like it offers alot, but does it deliever? If it provides detailed discriptions of each warships loss that's what I'm looking for. If it's just a short discription of when, where and how, I have all that in my histories of the Royal Navy. I'de like indepth details. Does this book have them??

Haven't seen the book yet, but considered buying it until I read the following description.
"A chronological listing of all British naval vessels lost through accident or enemy action from 1860 to the end of the First World War, with full descriptions of the circumstances. 30 B/W illustrations"
The illustrations will probably be from "stock" and already used elsewhere. There is a similar volume for the 20th century, which I don't think has any real information on the ships themselves.
It's cheap enough in the UK - �15 (30 dollars) plus postage, but I don't think I'll be buying it.
